Milton was born June 1, 1978, in Tarboro, North Carolina to Sylvia Staton Dudley and Milton Anthony. Milton attended and successfully completed his education at North Edgecombe High School in Leggett, North Carolina. Soon after graduation, Milton enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served four years, achieving an honorable discharge. His military service was the basis of all his future endeavors. He learned so many things such as discipline, repairing almost anything, and leadership.

Milton met the love of his life, Chiara Johnson in 2004, married in 2008, and settled down in Rocky Mount with their family. In 2011, they decided to relocate to Long Beach, California and there Milton would shine in all endeavors. Milton specialized as an entertainment security guard in numerous Long Beach nightclubs, concerts, and events. In 2020, Milton founded his own business, 357 Security LLC. His business gained widespread acclaim and numerous establishments sought his expertise to arrange security personnel for their events. This endeavor elevated him to the esteemed position of Chairman of the Long Beach Scottish Rite, where he shouldered numerous responsibilities. He was also employed at Roxanne’s, El Barrio, and The Top, all in Long Beach, CA.

Milton was also a dedicated 32nd-degree Mason. He served as the minister of the state for the Scottish Rite of Long Beach, CA making a historic milestone as the first African American to hold such a title. Beyond his professional life, Milton loved riding motorcycles and owned many bikes. He was an active member of the Masonic community and a member of two separate motorcycle clubs in Long Beach: The Masonic Riders of Long Beach and The Ruffians. His affiliation extended to the Masonic Sunset Lodge in Long Beach, where he showed unwavering support for his fellow brothers.

In July of this year, Milton, Chiara, and their boys, embarked on a new adventure in Las Vegas Nevada with new job opportunities and a new house. Milton realized his dream job by joining Harley-Davidson of Red Rock Las Vegas as a motorcycle salesman. His talent and dedication in this role were evident as he successfully sold six bikes within a mere two-week timeframe. He was extremely proud of the many customers who sought him out as “their” salesman, they would only buy from him.

Milton was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Staton Dudley, his uncle Phillip Staton, Jr., maternal grandparents Phillip and Della Staton, and paternal grandparents Charlie and Bessie Anthony.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Chiara Johnson Staton, their beloved children Ja’Cari and Jaheim Staton of Las Vegas, NV, Jabrese Staton of Los Angeles, CA, Jakobe Staton of Dewitt, MI, Janee’ Chadwick of Jacksonville, NC, JaKiyah and JaKeyah Barrett of Wilson, NC and Trevierre Wallace of Battleboro, NC., Father Milton Anthony of Hobgood, NC; sister Lenita (Vernon) Battle of Battleboro, NC; five aunts: Mary (Curmilus) Herring of Battleboro, NC, Iris (James) Weeks of Raleigh, NC, Linda Staton and Hope (Losse) Phillips of Rocky Mount, NC., Launice Timtson of District Heights, MD., niece Dachia Staton and nephew DeQuanne Staton of Rocky Mount, NC. Special cousin, more like a brother, Maurice Staton, special cousins Cheri Staton and Valerie Staton, and a host of relatives and friends, who were touched by his remarkable presence and kindness.

We sadly announce the passing of Mr. Milton Staton.  The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made directly to Giddens Memorial Chapel to offset funeral and travel expenses.  Your love, thoughtfulness and prayers are greatly appreciated, and will be acknowledged at a later date.
