Roberta Ellen Barnes, 53, originally of Evansville, Indiana died in her home in Las Vegas on October 14th, 2023.
She was born in Evansville in 1970 to Oscar and Joyce who instilled love and strength. In her early years, Roberta and her sister were known for their gymnastics and marching in parades. She moved to Las Vegas in 1999, where she lived the rest of her years. By trade, she was a Carpenter for 10 years of her life. She was very proud of this accomplishment. In her later years, she became a Registered Behavior Technician, alongside her daughters. She had an outgoing personality, that was love by many. She prided on independently raising her two daughters. Doing her very best to provide for them.
Roberta started a family of her own, and her children, Mercedes and Lexus meant the world to her. Even more so, she loved her grandbabies, Caiden, and Kailani. Roberta treasured her time with her grandkids and loved being their granny. With Caiden’s favorite memory being late nights at Denny’s and Kailani remembering how she practiced cheerleading with her Granny.
Roberta had a soft spot for her furbabies, treating each one like her child. They never ate dog food, only freshly prepared meals.
Roberta will always be remembered for her outspokenness and the way that she always extended a helping hand. We’ll always imagine hearing them say “I love my babies” or “both of my daughters have a master’s degree” one more time. We couldn’t have asked for a better mother and will miss Roberta every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Roberta was preceded in death by Tracy Martin and is survived by Mercedes Barnes-Green and Lexus Barnes.
Memorial Service is November 5th at TBD. Donations to her GoFundMe would be greatly appreciated. https://gofund.
