Wesley Lee Mitchell Jr.

March 9, 1965 — August 3, 2024

Wesley Lee Mitchell, Jr. was born on March 9, 1965. He was a happy, hazel-green-eyed baby and brought much love and joy into our lives.

Wesley was a brilliant student in school and graduated from Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, CA with an “A” average.

He continued his education by studying at Wayne County Community College in Detroit, MI and enlisted in the United States Army.

Wesley lived a life that was best for him. He was quiet, compassionate towards others and a lover of books. At one time he even owned a Christian bookstore in Los Angeles.

I have always loved Wesley’s subtle sense of humor. When I used to call him “Baby,” he would have me refer to him as “Mr. Baby.” Or, when he used to proudly remind me that he (only) was the first reason they call me Mom.

Wesley moved to Las Vegas to be closer to his father, Wesley Lee Mitchell, Sr., who precedes him in death. He continued to reside in Las Vegas until his death on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

Wesley Lee Mitchell, Jr. leaves to mourn his passing a loving and dedicated Mother, Elizabeth Ann (Chappell) Sweeney of Culver City, California. A devoted Brother, Hugh Mitchell Bouvier (Wife Ana; Daughter Fhabyana Marie-Grace) of Paris, France. A loving Cousin-Sister, Veda Green (Husband Lawrence); Daughter Jillian (Husband Mark) of Lawrenceville, Georgia. A loving Cousin-Brother, Freddy Lee of Birmingham, Alabama. A loving Uncle, William Chappell (Wife Nathaline) of Birmingham, Alabama. There are many other relatives, friends and caregivers.
